Is it weird that I get emotionally stressed out about other people's issue?

I get emotionally attached to other people's problem or sadness, how do I make myself feel better? I obviously care about them, that's why I kind of feel their pain, but at the same time it's affecting myself daily and it really shouldn't because it's not my problem and generally I don't think people should be affected.
 
it's probably that you are instinctively wary about being surrounded by people who are prone to being in distress. fact is, some people are magnets for it, for many reasons, none of which are your fault.
