is it weird that a white person like myself likes Motown music?

my ipod was on shuffle and i had dancing in the street come on then stand by me came on then lean on me came on and my friend whose black said your not supposed to be listening to this type of music and i said that's ridiculous why is that he said its very weird for a white person to like motown its not normal he said and i said to him that he has no idea what hes talking about and i have to ask people's opinion on this what do you think
 
Well i'm black myself and there is nothing wrong with it, music is music, some black people may like rock and roll, so if you like motown, keep listen to it,

I'm white and I listen to Motown...You're friend was just racial stereotyping. That's like saying that it's only black people that can listen to hip hop but obviously that isn't true either.

So no...it's not wrong :)
 
Of course it's not weird, I love Motown, and so do millions of other white people (and people of all different races). Your friend sounds pretty ignorant.
