is it weird if i date my ex's best friend?

my ex says that it is totally okay if i want to date his best friend, but im not sure if hes telling the truth... would it be weird if i did ?
 
i can understand that you probably like him a lot and i went through the same situation. its not weird at all unless your like all over your ex with his best friend. your fine and hes totally saying the truth, but if your ex still likes you then thats bad
