Is it weird for me to add someone in my lecture but i've never talk to before?

i have never talk to him before so im nt suppose to know his name. but i came across his fb page thru our mutual frds.(only 2!) i think he's good looking but we've never talk to each other before, but i think we knw each other exists! i sent him a fb frd request ystrday and he didnt accept! :( :( is it weird for me to actually add him as a friend in the first place? i wld like to be his frd hahahaha! what shld i do now if i see him real life nxt time! :( :( :(
