Is it weird for a kid in modern age to like music like the blues...?

My parents hate the music so i didn't get it from them im a white kid too... my friends at school think im weird because all of my influences on guitar are blues artists like robert johnson, muddywaters,etc. im 14 btw I just feel like im weird because i dont like the music that everyone else listens to.
 
No, you're not weird at all for liking the "Blues" & don't pay any attention to your so-called friends. True friends would never make fun of the music you like, just because they don't. To each his own they say. I know some teens your age who listen to nothing but music from the 50's & 60's. I think that's pretty neat because that's the music I grew up with. You need not feel that you're weird for the music you like, so just ignore those who like to shoot their big mouths off. I admire you for not being a follower like your friends. It's okay to be different from the others. They don't know what they're missing. :)
