Is it weird for a 17 year old to date a 14 year old?

i dont think that's wierd, one of my best friends dated a junior her freshman year.
now what IS wierd, is my friend whose a senior and 17 dating someone in 7th grade, shes 12!!!

Im a 17 year old guy and i have a problem. My girlfriend whose a freshman is 14 years old. Im 17 and a junior in high school. I havent told my parents that i have a girlfriend yet. I told my parents if i dated a girl who was 14 would they think it was weird. They told me i should date people my own age. What should i do? is that werid?
 
Uhmm at 17 yeah like
its not a big age difference in years
but in maturity or whatever it kinda is.
 
Well thats basically how it is for me to man (I'm junior and she's a freshman)..except we're not going out yet...anyways, yeah I think it does seem kinda weird, but then I look at my parents and they're 4 years age difference and my aunt and uncle are 9 years apart...So I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you like someone enough....and you should keep your girlfriend and just tell your parents you really like her
