Is it true you can put ideas into a well-educated man's head, but you can't put

I think the words of Samuel Adams to the Original Tea Party Protesters apply here...

"If men, through fear, fraud, or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate such renunciation. The right to freedom being the gift of Almighty God, it is not in the power of man to alienate this gift and voluntarily become a slave."

class or wisdom? It seems there have been tons of well-educated "fools" who've made the wrong decisions as leaders - even decisions that had been proven destructive in the past, just because they'd been indoctrinated in a warped world-view.

Which is more important: learning from practical experience after your formal education or implementing what your professor put in your head in a protected environment?

Yep. And you can't determine education by college degrees either. Like the Pres who had a masters in Business and still managed to run three companies into the ground before being elected, and then turned a state with a big surplus into a state with a huge deficit in his four years as governor. That kind of education and class.

You are absolutely correct. Just like you can't take a relatively educated individual who looks good on paper, throw him in the White House, and expect him to perform well.

Very good and worthy question!

I have very strong and time proven views on this subject, and firmly believe that one of if not 'the' most dangerous and destructive forces in our society is the 'well educated idiot'!

Nothing compares to experience!

Period!

The breeding ground for 'Liberal elitist pseudo-activists' are institutions such as Collages, Universities, Government, Hospitals or any position that insulates the individual from personal accountability and performance consequences.

These 'institutionalized' professional people are never exposed to the experience of preparing a 'business plan', arranging for 'business capitol','meeting a pay-role', providing 'employee benefits', 'marketing a product', 'inventories', 'market fluctuations', or the agony of 'firing/layoff of employees'.

They are insulated in their 'artificial world' of unionized job security, tenure, government bureaucracy, or simple detachment from accountability by layers of departmentalization.

Yet, somehow, these same 'unchallenged and unproven' individuals are placed in positions of authority making 'life altering decisions' for honest hard working Americans!

I liken this phenomenon to taking a 'fresh cadet' from West Point or Annapolis and promoting him directly to a 'Command Position'!

Of course our Military would never allow this and fully understands the concept of' field training' their Junior Officers and paring them with experienced NCOs.

Truly intelligent people understand their deficiencies and take great pains to gain 'practical experience'.

Elitists are the bane of any society and promote class envy!

Correct. Just because someone is educated does not denote they have morals, character or the ability to make decisions that are to the best benefit of the circumstances. Degrees do not always equal intellect or the ability to govern.
