Is it true that women aren't really featured in media unless they're attractive?

(Or some rare super celebrity like Oprah who gets women to spend money, or someone who's life is simply a public comedy like a Hillary Clinton- otherwise, do women need to be attractive before the public puts them in media?)
 
No, but it does help.

There are also a heck of a lot more celebrity males that women find attractive compared to the general population.

Off the top of my head I can think of a few unattractive women celebrities: Roseanne, Margaret Thatcher, Susan Boyle, Oprah...
