Hey i'm starting College in september and my options are Dancing and Perofrming Arts. I love both of them, and i think Performing Arts come naturally (not trying too brag, ok) but dancing dosn't.. I have never been too a ballay dance class before, but i've been too street dance on occasions... but in dance at Colleges it's always Ballay <<< i was just wondering if i would be ok doing this?? If you know 'Melody Thornton' from the (Pussycat Dolls) she has never been to a dance class before in her life, only when she just started with 'PCD' and look how far she is now !!!..
Please enlighten me and tell me what too expect?
Will i be the only begginner?
???
Help !! please

Age is not a limiting factor to start dance. But only thing is that your health should permit, you should have the desire and will for that, and your body should be flexible. Even flexiblity is not dose not matter, you go for Yoga for few months, make your body flexible, then you can see the wonder.
In nutshell, my opnion is that, you can go for it.
All the best.

I have been told that you can begin to dance at any age. I didn't start any dance classes until my senior year of high school, and I didn't take a ballet class until last year, when I was 20, and my teacher even said that you are never too old to begin dancing. I think what most people worry about when you begin dancing later is your bones not being morphed throughout your childhood to accommodate all the dance positions that you commonly use in ballet, but you can still learn all the moves, you might have to stretch more before classes or performances to get the same effect though. Also I wouldn't expect that you would be the only beginner in the class, Last year at my college ballet class I would say more than half were taking ballet for the first time, and a third of the class had never taken any dance classes before taking that class. Ballet is difficult however, and you should expect to have extremly sore muscles in odd places, and don't be discouraged if it takes you a long while to master a particular move because there is alot behind making perfect pirouettes and leaps to make them look as graceful and beautiful as you see in performances.

All in all I would definitly go for it, it is alot of fun and very worthwhile.

most girls end when their around 18. I don't honestly think its a good idea. Especially when you cant even spell ballet ( just kidding ) But you could just take starters ballet classes and then take the college course after. If you are in good shape, can jump high , have good posture and turn out then i think you might be able to .Oh also if your flexible. So it depends on you. but if your Good at performing arts i would stick to that.
