Is it too late to apply for college in the UK?

You might be able to get in if you don't mind sorting it quickly.. Your have difficulty trying to get onto courses through the 'normal' routes now so you should ring around the colleges your interested in as soon as possible.

It will depend on a few things firstly your previous grades (in the UK most colleges require 5 A-C's at GCSE or equivalent) and whether the courses you're applying for are full or not. I'd assume It depends what subjects you chose as well, arts based subjects are generally more popular and tend to have more students so are more likely to be over subscribed.

If I were you I'd look at online prospectus's for the colleges your interested in at the courses/subjects they do. Ring them today to see if they have places (some people drop out and never turn up) and to speak to a administrator and explain your situation. The longer you leave it the less likely your get a place (as you would of missed too much) you never know you might get lucky?

It depends you can give it a shot now, today or wait till next year, though unemployment for people 16-24 in the UK is at an all time high. What ever you chose to do don't waste your time.. gain some skills, experience, qualifications in one way or another even if its charity work.

I have just left school and at the time i was adamant i didnt want to go to college, after thinking it through, i have now decided i want to go... Is it too late to apply? All of my friends have already started so does this mean you have to wait until next year now? Also if i do apply next year when i am 17, will it still be free?

Yes you'll have to wait until next year. Education is free in the UK until you are 19.
