Is it too late for me to get Financial Aid for Fall 09? EFC 6000?

I believe the FAFSA deadline is July 1 and I know there was a priority deadline. First of all with an EFC of 6000 would it even be likely that I'd get any financial aid? I go to a public 4 year school, about 8k ish tuition and rent off campus. Are the only people able to get aid at this point those with EFCs of 0?

Lastly, if I had applied earlier would my 6000 EFC have gotten me anything?

It's probably too late for your school's financial aid. But if you qualified for federal aid, it's not too late. Below is a link to a chart showing pell grant eligibility. It looks like if your efc is over 4,600 you won't qualify for a pell grant.

Even if you don't qualify for a grant, you would qualify for some sort of stafford loan. Check with your school's financial aid office to see what you qualify for for sure and how to accept the offer.

Your efc is probably too high to have earned any need based scholarships.
