Is it time for GM to go down? What would be the ramifications?

If they file bankruptcy, the auto manufacturers will probably become a debtor in possession of the US government until they restructure so they can become a viable company. It is probably the only way the union will realize they have to go backwards some more in order for that to happen. Sad but true.

none there will be a new gm to take its place with more control over its destiny ..the unions will be out of a job until they learn that a floor sweeper isn't worth 45 bucks a hour ..and i bet the new gm will build better cars just so they can get ahead ..don't let folks fool you into thinking that just because a company goes bust ,that a new and better company wont take its place

80,000 more people on unemployment, a lot of debts that will go unpaid to bond holders, and we cannot forget investors.

All in all, GM should fail because they are unprofitable and a serious drain on Taxpayer money.
