...History degree? Work Experience at Parliament - saw the ways in which the political system was run, and shadowed an MP by joining in on activites etc
leaflteting posters/newsletters about my MP, to get votes in elections.

Natural History Museum - i haven't done this yet, but i might do this in a few weeks(i haven't been told just yet).
I don't know how this is gonna link in with what i want to do because what i wanna do is about world History, but this Museum is about ''natural'' history i.e animals/fossils etc.Any ideas?

ACTIVITIES:
Went on a couple of Lectures at UCL.
Went to lectures in other places
Went to a debate at UCL

ACTIVITIES NOT RELATED TO COURSE:
- British 10k run(got medals/certificates)
- peer mentor(helping those who have difficulty reading)
- worked in Barratts shoes for a month
- work experience at Nursery

how would i link thees stuff with History?

thanks:-)

It sounds like you don't really have focus. What do you want to do with your history degree?

I'll be honest - history degrees are one of those degrees that require extensive graduate work to make it work with the real work.

Once you figure out how you want to use your history degree, you can focus more on those these activities work for your degree.

The parliament work - you don't explain exactly what you did. It sounds like you just toured it, shadowed a politician and then wrote newsletters.

The Natural History Museum seems to be just as jumbled - figure out where you want to stand and focus on how people in your profession would use this experience. History is history and you can really prove yourself in it.

For activities...pretty irrelevent. Actually, very irrelevant.

Activities...even more irrelevant.

My advice? Find someone inf YOUR FIELD and shadow them for a few weeks. Talk to them about what they would do right now at the university to make you an attractive candidate for a job. GET FOCUS.

Work exp at Parliament looks respectable anyway, if it involved anything analytical or researched based you can include this. Natural history museum, not really relevant to specific topics in history, but at least you're expanding your ideas and exploring other areas. Lectures are obviously good to add, and peer mentor/10k run will also look good.

For history there isn't a lot you can do, just be clear on what areas you are interested in - you should probably find some time periods that interest you and read up on it -it then gives you something to put on your application, as well as something to talk about at an interview - you'd shown independent, wider reading of a non academic related topic, and is a genuine interest.

As long as you get the grades you need, you should be fine.
