Is it socially acceptable for a white woman to say she has jungle fever?

I'm watching the TV show "Weeds" and a white woman is attracted to a black guy and says she has jungle fever. Maybe I'm too uptight but isn't that like offensive, as if black people are from the jungle? Or is it no biggie?
