I changed my oil last night at 50k miles....Running 15w50 for almost 20k and not a speck of steel on the magnet. I really should've left it in more than 5000 miles...but i got it for $9 a 5 gallon jug...

Based on recommendations here from iclick and others, Mobil1 15w50 is all I've ever used on my 09. About 20K so far, most of it in the Texas heat and it runs fine. I run 5K between changes.

I get it at Wally World as well, but sometimes it's hard to find. I'll usually pick up two 5 qt. jugs when I find it so I'll have an extra on hand. Two jugs are still cheaper than 5 qts. of HD synth.

I've been running NAPA 15w-50 full synthetic ($3.29 qt on sale) in my last two bikes. The bikes seem to run just fine and the H-D has no issues. I do appear to have some typical "motor noise" but don't think it is abnormal as it is a 96" a/c motor and will make noise.

Yeah, we need to poke fun at each other periodically just so we won't get too serious about this stuff.

It is cooler lately, actually, thanks to a cold front coming through. It's been in the low 90's for the past few days, which is a great relief, and what's even more important is that humidity is also down. I don't plan on it staying nice, though, at least not 'til mid-October.

It's more than safe. I'm switching due to multiple positive sources. Half the price of Amsoil etc. at Wally World if you can get it. Not in my primary or tranny.
