i have had mulitple miscarriages and now i am pregnant again. i am somewhere between 4-6 weeks along. my husband and i had sex on sunday afternoon and it there was no pain. i was fine the rest of the day and then the next untill monday afternoon i had some spotting. it wasnt bad but enough to alarm me. nothing about this pregnancy has been normal so far. i had a complete 4 days of bleeding when my period was due. it was like i had a period but the dr said it wouldnt be classed as a period.. more like IB. then i was fine for 4 days then spotted again for another 4 days. i havent had any bleeding for about 6 days untill yesterday. my beta's are being monitored but i had my last one on friday and wont get my results back for a week. so, is it possible that the spotting was due to sex even though it was over 24 hours later? I am also moving to a bigger house and i may have lifted a few boxes that are over my wieght limit but i didnt have any problems with lifting when i was pregnant with my DD. whats going on? please give me some honest answers... i can handle it since ive been through 3 losses before
i went to the dr when i had the spotting that lasted 4 days and she checked my beta's and said they were going up enough. she told me to refrain from sex as long as i am bleeding. but i stopped bleeding for 6 days. i had sex because i thought i was safe and then about 26 hours later i spotted again. and when i say sex.. i dont mean that it was rough. in fact we were very careful to avoid any more complications. its just that my hubby is deploying in less than 2 weeks so he will be sexless for a while lol. but if its safer than i will hold off.

Im not sure how miscarriages work but I do believe that spotting is normal up to 24 hours after sex. I honestly would suggest that you go to the emergency room or go see your dr tomorrow if you are worried, they are really the only ones that would be able to tell you if there is anything wrong. I would also talk to you dr about having an active sex life right now. Im sure after 3 miscarriages you are ready to make it full term.

~EDIT~ I found this

What Causes Miscarriage?
If you've had a miscarriage, you've probably wondered why it happened. Some women even blame themselves for miscarriage. But miscarriage is rarely caused by something the pregnant woman did. Having sex, exercise, a mild fall, and most medications do not cause miscarriage.

It may be difficult for health care providers to know what caused a particular miscarriage. But we do know some things that make miscarriage more likely in general:

•The embryo or fetus has a chromosome that causes it to develop abnormally. This is not usually a sign of a condition that could cause problems in future pregnancies. It usually happens by chance when the fertilized egg divides and grows. This problem causes at least half of miscarriages.
•A woman's risk of miscarriage increases as she ages.
•Severe chronic illness — such as poorly controlled diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or lupus — can cause miscarriage.
•Severe trauma and very serious infections also can cause miscarriage.
•Abnormalities in the uterus, like scar tissue or uterine fibroids, can cause late miscarriages — after three months.
•Smoking, the use of alcohol or cocaine, and heavy caffeine use have all been tied to miscarriage.
•Women who are underweight or overweight have a greater risk of miscarriage than other women.
•Women who have had two or more miscarriages in a row are at a greater risk of having future miscarriages.

Congrats and good luck

i wouldnt suggest it and if you do make love not have sex you know nice and slow might not be no fun but ive had 6 miscarriages that occured after sex and when i got pregnant this time for the first couple of months i wouldnt have sex and then when i finally did it was nice and slow and now im 34 weeks so i think not having sex helped me to get this far along
