Is it safe to have sex before you get your period?

I'm 15 and my boyfriend and I plan to have sex for both our first time on his birthday. But I have the most irregular period ever. I got it for the first time last April and then 3 months later in June and I haven't had one since. Could this affect me at all after sex?
 
I sure wish you to kids would wait on the sex thing once you have sex nothing will ever be the same .and you could wind up pregnant and that would not be a good thing at 15 trust me I know all about being 15 and pregnant. just be a young women with out the sex that is something that you can think about in 5 years from now with some one your more likely to stay with
