Is it safe to eat veggies from a garden that once had ant poison used near by?

I had a very bad ant problem last year when I moved into my new home. At the time I had no choice but to use a pesticide but this year I want to grow a vegetable garden. I have been tilling the soil every other day or so since the weather has started to warm up, as a way to clean the soil. Should I buy a ph test, or what type of test do I need for that soil? I will be eating the produce that comes from the garden and I want to make sure its safe for my family. I couldn't find any information on this topic besides using NATURAL pesticides but that's not the case here. So what I need to know is:

Can I eat the produce from my garden this year where the ant poison was used last year? If not, what solutions do I have as to cleaning the soil, testing, treatment or what have you?

This area where I want to plant the garden is 1: protected from the wild life, most of it anyway and 2:has direct sun light and shade in the late afternoon. It's just the best place to plant the garden around my house. Thanks.
