Is it safe to cook a roast in a porcelain container?

I'm planning on surprising my friend with a pot roast when he gets home, and I cam to realize he has no proper pots at his house.

So I found this porcelain thing that is shaped like what one would cook a roast in, but I'm wondering if it would be safe to put it in the oven.
