The prices for food can be outrageous these days so it is best to grow your own crops to save you the cash in the wallet plus that home-grown flavor?

It's certainly helpful if you're into organic food. It's also a very rewarding experience to be able to grow your own garden, and will certainly taste better than anything commercially available. It requires a lot of work though, so don't put in the effort unless you're willing to go through with it.

sure. my sister did that. but when she moved she let the garden she made in the backyard at our parents go to pot.

I just stick to veggies and fruits and soy and like my stuff organic

although I can be a sucker for cream cheese and bagels [whole grain of course]

It's definately the best way to get your food. It's even better than local or organic, It's right in your yard! This summer I planted kale, collard greens and cabbage. I've got some fruit trees as well. It's definately cheaper, and a really good investment.
