Is it really a bad thing that Obama enacted a cig. tax hike?

It obviously caused an inconvenience for smokers, but thinking long-term, it will definitely help America. There's just no reason for anyone to smoke; it's not even pleasurable unless you're addicted. Less young people are smoking these days; maybe in the future no one will.

I mean really....when we think of deadly drugs we don't think of cigarettes simply because they're legal. But maybe they should be, and perhaps they'll be nonexistent in the future. At least for now, shouldn't something so deadly be a bit more expensive so that people think to themselves, is it really worth it?

You can throw whatever any meaningless term (communist/socialist/Marxist/whatever) at me but I'm just trying to think logically and not politically anyway.
Jeez, it's just an opinion!
(smacks head)...Obama has nothing to do with food prices!

There are so many good things that the Government needs to pay for and many of them are things you do not even realize they are paying for. With a health care overhaul Obama needs some more money to spend on that and if people smoke less because of higher prices, they may not even need to go to the doctor and use government funds.
