Is it professional to put an epigram in your manuscript?

I found a really great quote and I really want to use it as the epigram for the book I'm writing. I'm wondering, is it okay to send a manuscript with an epigram to an agent or publisher?
 
For me, putting an epigram in your manuscript is professional because an epigram is a brief, clever, and usually memorable statement. So, I think it is not a problem. You just have to be reminded that epigrams posted must still be related with the topic you are weaving through.
