Is it possible to use samsung i730 with Cricket?

AAAUUUGGGHHHH. Ok so I was getting out of memory errors probably that damn palm threaded messaging. I used a hex editor to edit my nvmdata and nvmhdr settings. I cant find a reference in any of the nvm files to vz3gw.com and yeat when I use service programming on the HA tab there is the mother hugging vz3gw. I can connect in 1x, I have the 1050 prl, I have the EV icon, and the damn thing won't work. I'm thinking I'll just buy a new freaking phone. I love this phone though. So what is the most functional Pocket PC that can be hacked over to cricket with EVDO? Opionions welcome.
 
i'm sure some folks here would liketo know how you got "simple ip" to stick???


your best bet is mogul or apache...teh touch sucks *** but the new touch with keyboard and wifi will be nice...think there's a cdma here or comming...i'll have to look into that.
 
yea ...how u get simple ip 2 stick...and although i have NO EXPERIENCE with roms..... not even loadin one onto a phone... lol but ill give it a shot be prepared people ima be im and askin alot of questions
 
So i just got a i730. and i had it flashed over in 5 mins. problem is that i can get the web to work. it seems like the simple ip setting is not staying after i try to connect. any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Well I was getting lots of Out Of Memory errors during writing to phone with QPST and Com4 would go undetected. so I hard reset the phone. Bye bye beta version of Palm Threaded Messaging, bye bye total commander, bye bye PHMregedit. :( Anyway after that QPST service programming and setting it to Simple IP stuck through a soft reset and no more memory errors :) I still can't get the PPP information to keep mycricket.com instead of vz3gw.com so that sucks, I've hexedited all of the nvm files that have vz3gw.com to mycricket.com and changed the preceding 14 to an 18, but I really only know what I get from searching I can't decode the hex files so I don't know if I'm doing that right. I tried replacing the files with the files from the MotoQ thread, but that broke even my 1X access. I'm just so frustrated with trying to get the EVDO and MMS to work on this phone, installing Palm Threaded and ArcSoft MMS composer, and never any love from my I730. Why oh why is there no Samsung I730 master in the Mafia?
 
The general rule for Cricket service (minus WAP and MMS) is that if the phone is CDMA (which that one is) then you can use it. There are some threaRAB here detailing how to use PST or some other software and a data cable to program the phone or using the OTA method. Try searching for that and you should find some success.

Yeah it goes back after trying to connect with dial up. Thanks Verizon and Samsung for this exercise in frustration. I quit. You win. I'm heading over to ebay to find a 6700. Screw it. Anybody want an i730 with two data cables two batteries and a cradle charger?
