...If so...how? I just got Direct TV and I am trying to get some kids shows to put on my computer, and burn onto DVDs for my 5 year old twins.
 
It is against copyright infringement laws to copy from your DVR to another source.

You could use a video capture device on your computer if you know how, but it's still not legal. Although, i don't see the police coming after you for doing it. lol
There's just no easy way of doing it because of piracy.
