Is it possible to transfer the image from my computer to the TV?

Depends on your graphics card and your TV. What kind of TV do you have and what graphics card (or computer) do you have? There are several possibilities on how to do this, and different cables/conversion cables are needed depending on your setup,

Unless your equipment is ancient, (IE TV only accepts coaxial) then you can find a way to do it.
 
I was thinking along the lines of downloaded movies and live TV streaming.

If such a device exists, would it be a hardwired or wireless option?
