No, your $4000 is gone. You can trade in your Aerio, but the trade-in value is what they want to pay you for it. If they offer $5500, your ahead of the game. If they offer $3500, you're behind and you've lost $1000. Not to worry, this is how the used car game is always played.

i have a 2007 suzuki aerio. it was about $8500. [cheap i know] i have paid off about $4,000. is it possible to trade in my suzuki and use the money i have paid off as a down payment on another, better, car? my friend did something like that, but i dunno if thats exactly it. is that possible? plz dont be rude. im not to bright when it comes to cars, or anything like that. but advice is appreciated. thanks
