Is it possible to take the GED test before dropping out?

I'd like to know if I can go to where the GED tests are administered and take it before I continue thinking about dropping out. I'm a bright student, but I hate thinking that I might drop out just to fail the GED tests and have to sit through more school. I know there are GED tests online, I don't know how accurate they are to the real thing though. And the ones I've found cost money that I'm not sending to someone on the other end of a website. School has never been my thing.
So to recap, my question is can I take the GED tests before I drop out so I will know how prepared I am?
 
You can get a practice GED book and try a test there. You can get one from a library. I have a college education and I applaude you for trying to finish your education. If you can't take it anymore, a GED can be an option.
