Is it possible to run over a screw and pop car tyre?

I think someone put the screw into my tyre,the head wasnt there expect it broke off when i drove but,i wanted to know how likely it was i could of just ran over it and it got stuck into tyre and popped it.

just a small one about 1/2 inch probably bigger than the blokes manhood who did it lol
