...power outlet? I have seen in some car shop's like super cheap auto that they will have a section where they have a board with a heap of car stereo equipment including sub's, speakers and all the LCD stuff. I am planning on building a good sound system for my house. I want to buy a Sub, some speakers and an amp. The sub I am looking at is

Along with six:
16CM 4-WAY SONY XSGTX1640
Peak power: 300W

I am still looking for an amp to power these. I am guessing I will need a 6.1 channel amp that has a peak power of at least 1200W right? Now for the final question;

Is there a way to power all of this outside a car. ie. Without a battery and alternator. Like run it all off a single wall power outlet. I have already looked into getting a power supply to run them but I don't know how many AMPS I would need to be able to run all of this.

Thanks in advanced.

I'm also very new to this stuff so if you pick me up on something for being wrong please let me know so I can learn
