Is it possible to play for NCAA division III basketball if you haven't played

since high school? I just turned 20 and I was wondering if there are open try outs for transfer students if I transfer to a division III basketball team. I'm a pretty solid player so I was wondering if I have a shot?

I play in my free time and intramural at my current school if that helps.

I would like serious and informative answers only please.

Thanks Sliteofhand, I only say serious answers because I noticed there are a lot of annoying and immature people on Y!Answers these days, especially the bball section.

I checked the NCAA website about transfer athletes, and that page doesn't even work. Maybe they took it down or haven't added it yet.
 
the only serious and informative answers are probably going to come from Campus sites of your school of choice.
they have walk-ons at Div I schools but it is at the beginning of the season unless there are multiple injuries; but in the smaller schools they will probably take all the help they can get.
