We want to get married in the warm weather, but we have been together for a while and want to get married on a whim...but we would like for it to be a nice wedding. Is this possible?

As long as the vendors are available, I don't see why not. Get on the horn! I'm a bride to be as well but I'm going more traditional- 5-23-09. Congrats and good luck!

well depends on where you want to get married, do you need a city license saying you can get married there. Many out door places require you to get a city permit which cost money in the ranges of 75-250 dollars. Being a former wedding coordinator you would need to find rentals who can help you in a rush situation. Plus you need to be able to find caterers and wedding cake specialist to see if they can give you a wedding cake at the last minute. Most bakeries are booked months in advance and so are the grocery stores that make them, as far as caterers go, you need to find the same thing unless you want to go to the deli of your grocery store and have them make you cold cuts for your guest.

If you are very organized it can be done. If you want it bad enough you can make it happen. Now hurry and get busy you have a lot of work to do.

it depends on how big u want it to be and what all u want but yeah u can if u was to start now
So good luck and gratz

YES!!! I work at a banquet facility and we have done several weddings that were planned within 2-3 months. The thing to remember is that you can't be too choosy, because most of the "good" days, times and vendors will have been booked months ago.

First, you need to make sure your church and/or pastor is available on such short notice. If you don't have a church, look in the bridal magazines, or even the yellow pages under "weddings" to find a minister for hire.

If you need to have it on a Saturday, start calling around to banquet halls and see if they've had any cancellations for a Saturday in the months you are interested in. If you can't find a place you like that's available on a Saturday night, consider moving to a Friday or Sunday, or even having a Saturday morning wedding and a brunch reception. If you can find a place that's "all inclusive", that will help a lot. By all inclusive, I mean that they provide the food, beverages (bar), tables, chairs, accessory tables, linens, tableware, centerpieces and even the cake. Then all you have to find is your entertainment (DJ or band). If they don't provide these things, you will need to find a caterer, rental company, florist and/or baker.

Next, get your invitations ready, because most people send out invitations 2 months before the wedding. You can print them yourself to save time, but most places that do custom invites can rush it for an extra fee.

You will probably have to get your wedding dress "off the rack". Check out wedding consignment shops and places that sell discontinued and overstock designs off the rack. If you want a more informal feel, you could even buy a nice dress at a department store. It is prom season, so there should be a ton of formal dresses, and some come in shades of white/ivory.

Tuxes shouldn't be a huge problem, unless you have a large bridal party, but start calling around to rental shops to see if they can accommodate you on short notice.

If all of this is too overwhelming, then consider hiring a wedding planner to help you out. It's an added expense, but they can be worth it if you are not the kind of person who gets into the details of planning parties, or if you are just too busy to take care of all this stuff on your own.

You can email me if you have any questions.

Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!
