I have hearing loss, plain and simple. The hearing in my right ear is below 70%. I want to know if it is possible to manipulate the outcome of a hearing test for the Navy. By manipulate I mean somehow take the test in such a way I can get a false positive. Is there a way to pass the test in a way that they cant tell I have hearing loss... maybe just count to random numbers and press the button for that side such as : 1 2 3 press, 1 2 press, 1 press, 1 2 3 4 5 press.
I am 100% healthy other than the hearing loss. I have a college degree.I am a civilian commercial pilot, and I have my skydiving and scuba diving certifications. I feel I would be a credit to the service if I was given the opportunity...
All I want is to serve my country, I would gladly give my life if asked to do so, but I am afraid I will never be given the chance to serve because of something out of my control. Is there anyway for me to do it?
I am not going to go the waiver route because if it is denied I am permanently disqualified. I would rather try my luck at passing the hearing test.
Please do not waste your time or mine by giving some ethical or moral qualm about it.... its not your decision, it is mine, I am just looking for answers from those that have been in a situation in which they were going to be barred from doing something they've always wanted because of something they couldn't help.
