Is it possible to install a hitch on a 2009/2010 Ford Focus?

My wife and I will be buying a 2009 or 2010 Ford Focus SES in the next few months. We quite often need the services of a pick-up to move stuff (furniture, mulch, lawn equipment, etc). I need to know if it is possible to install a RELIABLE hitch on the car. We want to be able to pull a small trailer to move those types of things. We wont be hauling anything heavy, just small loads like I mentioned. Anyhoo, is it possible without looking stupid? Anyone who knows about this kind of thing please advise. Thanx!

It's iffy. The 4-cylinder engine on that car might not be able to do much. Depending on how big the trailer is and how much you put in it (depending on how much mulch, type of mower, size of furniture, etc) I'm not sure how much abuse the transmission will take. I can picture one of those little platform things that hook up to a hitch like for a cooler or bike or something working, but beyond that I don't know. Ask the dealership that you buy from what's possible and if it will do anything to your warranty.
