Is it possible to have two primary care docs? I'm living far from home at the moment and I'm a little sick?

Yes, it's possible but, if you're using insurance be sure to check with them first. Often times there are stipulations on what you can and can't do when you're traveling (abroad or domestic) or if you're outside of your home network. Depending on your coverage, they could do anything from covering it like they normally would to requiring you to pay full cost out-of-pocket and then submit for reimbursement.

I think, if I were you, and just experiencing a generalized flu or cold-type illness would be to go to an urgent care or health care clinic. For example, if you live near a Rite-Aid, some of them have Sutter Express Care locations inside their store. They treat general ailments and insurance usually covers it but, if it doesn't, then it's cheaper than finding a new doctor and going for an office visit and getting meds. Then, they can just send those records to your normal primary care doctor at home; that way, you're getting treated but you're not actually having to find/see a new doctor. You could also likely call your insurance company and get a recommendation from them on one of these locations in the area you're currently at; it will also verify coverage all at once.
