Is it possible to have a virus on your cellphone?

This might sound weird, but like I get spam-y text messages on my cellphone sometimes, like stuff that you would be stupid to fall for like, "your credit card with (bank that I do not even belong to) may be compromised, text your account number to this number to get your balance". But like a couple weeks ago I got a message saying "Heather sent you a private message view it at blahblahblahblah.com" and I thought it was spam at first, but I do actually have a friend named Heather, so I asked her if she did actually send me a message like that and she said no. Since then though I've got 2 similar messages with different names that are my friends.....and one was Marwah so I don't think that's a coincidance. I get spam but like spam with my contacts name on it? How would spammers know that? Is it like a virus? I'm kinda scared haha.

no cellphones usually cant get viruses did you give your cellphone number to any websites if so the websites could be spamming it
