I'm a high school student, still got a year to make up my mind but i need some help. My parents really wont stop bothering me about having an undergraduates degree in anything. Apparently its a requirement for many jobs and i need it for my future, just something to fall back on really. However at the moment I'm striving to get into the gaming industry whether it be the programming or graphics etc just in the industry. I've been doing a bit of research and getting a degree is not an absolute necessity. I really want to go to Vancouver film school because in 2 "intensive" years I'll walk out with 2 diplomas, one for media in general, the other in game design. Apparently their graduates go out to work in big company's and projects. I am also told VFS is close to UBC. This is my current situation and since I don't know much about post secondary I need some help. Would it be possible to go to VFS and UBC and get the experience i need as well as that piece of paper that says undergraduates degree either at the same time or reasonably close together (possible no matter how much work needed). Also money isn't a concern.
