is it possible to get an iphone without buying the service?

don't think this is possible, sorry. You could just wait a few years and perhaps iphone will eventually make its way to verizon --- however this looks doubtful. You could just use the google android instead of an iphone and stick with verizon.
 
i have an iPod touch, and an iPod nano 5th generation (the one with the camera) and i was thinking how great it would be to combine them... i thought of the iphone, but apple tells me i have to agree to a 2 year contract in order to get it to work. i was wondering if there was any way i could get an iphone (off of craigslist or ebay) and be able to use it as an ipod touch with a camera. getting a contract is out of the question, because im already in a good contract with verizon.

i want an iphone without service, that i can use as an ipod touch with a camera. is this possible? and how?
