...team? I love the game of football and have been playing it for 1 and a half years. I have also been out of Football for a season and a half, not due to injury, but due to devorce and transfering late.

I plan on getting back into Football and I want to try to get a scholarship for it. I am only a Freshman (going to be a Sophmore very soon) and I already get good grades. One thing I have found out about my high school's team is that they don't have a very good team and I wanted to know, if it is possible to get a sports scholarship to a college even, if your HS team isn't the greatest.

Yes, its possible, but its just harder. I mean, take Matt Cassel as an example. He's not a great QB, but he played on a great team last year and put up good stats. Then take Calvin Johnson, he played on an awful team with an awful QB, and although he did pretty well, he doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves.

The problem with being on a bad team is that scouts aren't going to normally spend much time with bad teams, since theres not a lot of talent there. Also, depending on your position, it may be harder to be noticed. Like, lets say you're a good CB, even the best CBs will have a hard time holding great coverage if there's no pass rush and the QB has unlimited time in the pocket.

What you have to do, is just play your best every down. Don't worry if your team sucks, just give 100% every play and do your best. If you're really good, your coach should try to help you get noticed, be it contacting scouts or sending in some videos of you play. If you truly have that much talent, you can get a scholarship, its just going to be harder to get noticed.

First you have to make yourself easy to stand out with solid play every game. Also, if you are able to contact some scouts to just come to see you, then maybe you will get noticed and more and more scouts from better and more prestigous colleges will show up.

Yes. Just do your thing and you will get invited to camps and then you must do your thing there . However it is a plus and in my opinion makes life easier if you play on a good team. You get more media coverage and more scouts in your games and your chances of getting scouted are obviously greater.

It would not hurt to try and make a highlight video of yourself if possible. If it looks like your not getting attention from big colleges you can always go to the junior colleges with your highlight video. Then from there it can make it easier to get noticed and transfer to a bigger college. Junior colleges dont have the ability to offer alot of free ride scholarships so you have to make yourself noticed. go up to the campus talk to the coaches.....What do you have to lose.

yes you can, but getting the recognition and publicity isnt going to be easy with a bad overall team. try to make your team better as a whole and that will help. college teams don't like to see drama queens that only care about themselves so show them that you want to win.
