Is it possible to 'convert' my degree to Economics via Distance Learning?

I graduated with a 2:1 in Sociology a few years ago, and I now want to undertake a conversion course to Economics.
I've seen conversion courses offered for Psychology and Law, so I wonder if they're available for Economics too?
The other factor is that I am currently not in the UK, so I'd like to study for it online if possible.
 
I don't think there is a specific conversion course, The ones you mention are courses that lead to a particular professional qualification.

But here is the good news. If you study for a degree in any subject then a certain amount of previous study will count. How much depends on how closely your old degree matches the new degree. You could end up just doing the final year units.

For distance learning the OU seems to be a good choice, I've not used it but those who have seem to rate it.
