Is it possible to change the OS on the LG KP500 (cookie) ?

I know its probably not a very good idea if it was possible but i dont really like the OS on the KP500 and LG has just completely turned there back on it so i was wondering should a just get a iphone/nexus one or should i try putting a new OS on the phone ?
