Is it possible that under some catastrophe,my Health Insurance Provider

could go bankrupt? and then I could not get other insurance because I was a victim of that catastrophe and it would be a pre existing condition.
Also, the small print says I am not covered for injury from atomic bombs, dirty bombs, terrorist attack or war.

Acts of war, terrorism, etc, are never covered by any insurance. And any insurance company can go bankrupt for a variety of reasons: excessive claims due to natural disaster (Hurricane Andrew nearly put a bunch of ins. cos. out of biz), investments go sour (stock market crashes), etc. That's why you must always check a rating service, such as AM Best, to see how healthy the insurance company is! True for ALL kinds of insurances.

Yes. The thing that will make your health insurance provider go bankrupt is called government health care! Your provider will not be able to compete with the government since they do not have to make a profit to survive.
