loves them dearly?
that's not my attitude, im in love with someone with that lifestyle.

This is exactly what God tells us to do. In Islam, we believe that the soul, or the self, is constantly seeking pleasure, going after desires. it always wants more and more. That is why Muslims fast the month of ramadan; to discipline our souls. To be able to have control over our souls and selves and lives, so that we carry the world in our hands (being able to persue anything), not the world controlling us and holding us. We learn patience which is vital in this world. and we learn to be generous because we put ourselves in the situation of the poor and hungry, seeing how they feel, so we know their situation and help them more. you will never be able to leave your hedonistic lifestyle until you become spiritual; until you start a relationship with God, ask for his guidance, and God will let you see and feel his beauty. only then will you live the most fullfilling, happy, and peaceful lifestyle. Really the best lifestyle. and this is what your soul really wants. all the other unimportant worldly desires your soul tries to seek is only limited pleasure, your soul tricks you into thinking you need it, but you really don't - when you finally get it, your not as happy as you thought you would be, so you seek somehting else.
God loves you dearly, he just waits for you to turn to him and will help you in every way. Being human, we all need each other. we need to love and be loved.
only after you love God will you then start to love others and appreciate their good characteristics.
work in trying to make that person a less selfish and better person; maybe they will like you. take them on a spiritual exploration, where both of you learn something. for that is what they're truelly seeking.
In islam, we're supposed to love God more than our parents or lovers, God is the one who has created your parents and lovers and you and has provided the book of guidence so that you can live the best life on this world no matter what situation you're in. and even after this life is over for you, he has prepared a perfect heaven for us to live in for eternity.

I've done it before, but it's never easy, and I usually end up regretting it later. :-)

Fact is if they gave up their hedonistic lifestyle, which probably attracted you to them in the first place, you'd soon be bored with them and looking for excitement.
