is it okay to take pre-vet in a cal state and then transfer?

i want to be a marine mammal vet, and i know i can take the biology courses and the pre-vet courses at the same time, and was thinking of doing so at csumb....but i was wondering if that would be held against me, considering it is a cal state, rather than at UCDavis or a higher level school...would it still count if i took pre-vet at a cal state, and tried to get into a graduate school or something with that? help? =/
