Is it okay to have diamonds on groom's band?

My fiance and I are picking out each others wedding bands.
I like the idea of putting stones in his band (many men's bands are very plain).
But I am wondering if he will think that's too, well, feminine.
I was thinking of something like this:

I have also found bands that have designs I like, without any stones. So I could go with one of those, if you think it'd be too much.

What are your thoughts?

As for those saying to let him pick, or ask his opinion - it was his idea to surprise each other. He specifically said he wanted to not know.
I'm so bad at making decisions on my own!

many wedding bands are actually very tastefully done now and look very masculine. My fiance chose a tungstan carbide ring with blue carbon fiber flakes in the middle. it explains his personality plus includes our wedding colors... he's not one for the diamonds but it's not plain and he gets plenty of comments on it from his family (the only ones to see it so far) i think the idea of you getting each other's rings is very cute and a kind gesture. good luck!
