Is it okay that I used this pregnancy test..?

So, my period usually comes around the last week of the month or the first week.. and I haven't had mine yet. So, last night I took a pregnancy test and as I was waiting on the results.. I was reading the side of the box. And it said something like "Take test day of expected period" and blah blah blah. Well, I'm young, I don't get EXPECTED periods. They're random, lol, you know what I mean. Anyways, the results were negative (yay) but it's got me thinkin'.. Did I use the wrong test? And is there another test I should take?

The box came with two tests, I took one last night, I'll take one tomorrow just to make sure..

Yeah, well, this is a serious question.. So, serious answers, please.
 
Maybe you mean your cycle is irregular? But if so then you wouldn't normally get it around the last or first week of the month. So obviously your period is expected during that time frame. So, take a test after the first week of the month and go from there. Do you usually get it before the 5th of the month? I mean, unless you ARE irregular it isn't random. It is probably a 28 day cycle maybe a few days more or less.
 
all tests work the same. they all test for the pregnancy hormone.


but to be sure, you should save that last test. take it next week, or in a couple days if you cant wait that long. false negatives can happen if you take a test too early.
