Is it okay for two male betta fish to be able to see each other through glass?

I have two male betta fish in a tank of approximately 3.6 litres, with a piece of glass separating them. At nighttime, I put a piece of black plastic alongside the glass, so they can't see each other.

Does it stress them out a great deal, or do they get a thrill out of it, because they're aggressive in nature?

Thanks.

Betta's need 5 gallons per betta. Seeing each other does stress them out. You need to get each of them seperate 5 gallon tanks, with heaters, filters, thermometers, and lights. The heater should be set at 75 °F. They need to be fed once or twice a day, with floating betta pellets. They should probably be fed about 4-6 pellets a day for each of them (either 2 pellets in the morning and 2 pellets at night, or 3 pellets in the morning and 3 pellets at night, PER fish).

It stresses them out. You should see that they will flare up and become tense when they see each other.
