Let's say a group of people come into a restaurant to eat and rack up a $50.00 bill. While the server is busy with other things but still trying to keep an eye on this table, the people get up and walk out without paying. This is a corporate restaurant; not a privately owned one. Is it okay for the manager/owner of this particular location allowed to make the servers pay for table walk-outs if it was beyond their control? As long as tapes are checked to ensure that the server didn't just pocket the money, is it right to be forced to pay for something like this?
