No, I wouldn't. The paint will slowly come off in the water and this will be toxic to your fishies! Just buy something at a pet store if you need fun fish things..they can be pretty inexpensive!

Have fun!

is it ok to put a spray painted object in a fish tank? Will it kill the fish you put in it?

if its says non toxic then it should be good
but i would recomend a safe paint called Krylon Fusion
its safe to use for shure
good luck

No... not a good idea.
There are paints for this purpose (aquatic submersion),but they aren't something you commonly find (and are cost prohibitive) ... so anything you find in any common store is going to be HIGHLY toxic.

You can buy a paint called Krylon Fusion. Its supposed to be safe when fully dried. Ive read about alof of people using it in their tanks without issues. Google it.

Technically you should avoid harsh chemicals in the water that otherwise don't belong however if the object/decoration was purchased AS an item that goes in a fish-tank then you should be ok. If you still feel uncomfortable then don't do it. It is better to not take the chance of harming or killing your fish friends.
