Is it ok to keep my fish tank on at night then off during the day?

I live in campus dorms on the first floor so I keep all my shutters closed during the day which lets minimal light in. Also im a bit of an insomniac so I usually have light on during the night. I am a new fish owner. I also dont usually like sleeping without some light (im not afraid of the dark its just my preference). So im wondering if its ok to keep my lights off in my fish tank during the day and turn them on at night. Keeping a cycle but in reverse? I have only had my fish for a day he's a little betta named spike and he's happily in a 5 gallon tank with some fake plants.

i dont think light really affects fish health unless its really intense. u just have to worry about the water balance.
