Is it ok to have my dog run next to my bike?

I have a 7lbs pomeranian who i have taught to run next to my bike and she loves it. Then, i realized that this might cause heart conditions. Do you have a small dog that you have run next to you when you bike?

it is totally ok just don't ride to fast it gets them excercise it perfectley fine trist me i have all my 3 dogs run beside me when i bike

im not sure about the heart conditions....but be careful, especially with such a small dog. just imagine loosing a bit of control over the bike and accidentally hitting the dog....or if she runs in front of the bike...it happens. my husband runs our pitt on his dirt bike (great exercise) the one day he didn't wear a helmet our male decided for some reason or another to cut right in front of the bike and my husband crashed...broke his jaw...so yeah, be careful

Well, as long as you don't ride so fast then it will be okay. As long as you don't let him dominate you and get small dog syndrome then you will be finee. I do it with my dog but shes 50 lbs.
